My Journey
I was born in Venezuela and was raised in a Cuban-Venezuelan family. Having been brought up in this cultural background has made me a very happy, enthusiastic, passionate and energetic person, with a warm heart.
As a child, I dreamed about traveling around the world, meeting new people, discovering different cultures and learning new languages.
For 18 years, I've had the privilege of developing my career internationally by holding different positions around the world. My experience includes having been a Recruiter for Venezuela, Trinidad & Tobago, an HR Manager for Equatorial Guinea, Angola and Ecuador; an HR Director for Brazil, a Manager of an HR Shared Services Hub serving Latin America, based in Colombia; a Training & HR Quality Manager for Asia and Middle East region, based in the United Arab Emirates, and an HR Director for a business unit, covering the Americas, based in the U.S.A.; and most recently, as HR Program Manager for a U.S company with start-up environment, creating new programs related to talent management and employee retention to support the HR strategy and enable the fast paced growth of the business.
Through all these years, I specialized in career development, talent management and succession planning. I experienced satisfaction supporting high level managers in identifying key talent, building customized development plans for their team members, aligning their performance and maximizing their potential in order to achieve common goals. I also gained awareness of my talent and ability to engage employees and team members, partnering with them to support their career development and without realizing it I became the go-to person when someone wanted to discuss the possibility of a new assignment abroad, or was looking for advise when dealing with challenges in the professional environment, or needed clarity about their career goals and strategies.
During my assignment in Dubai, I had the opportunity of facilitating several training sessions on management and leadership skills in the Middle East and Asia. I enjoyed this tremendously and it made me want to learn more about Coaching. It was then during a career transition, that I decided to complement my Human Resources background and experience with formal training on Coaching. The rest is history!
